A Message Dean, John Bower!

Fairhaven College Priorities:

We know many of our low-income, first-generation, and students of color face significant barriers to reach and succeed at Fairhaven. For these students, graduation rates are lower, and the time required to graduate is higher than for more privileged populations.

Together, we can change this.

You can help us fulfill our promise to Fairhaven students to provide them a network of support from start to finish.

We have outlined three significant ways you can help with a gift this year. Will you join us?

The Fairhaven Opportunity Fund provides financial support for first-generation college students with high financial need. This scholarship ensures equity in access to education and was established to see students through to graduation. Fairhaven College is defined by its commitment to social justice and to providing an education that examines the issues of a diverse society. We promote social relationships that are more just and equitable. The fact that 80% of Fairhaven staff and faculty choose to donate to this scholarship is emblematic of the depth of our commitment. Gifts of all sizes add up and make a tremendous difference. Donors who give $2,000 or more can choose to have their name on an Opportunity Scholarship.

The Center for Law, Diversity, and Justice Fund supports the type of legal education our students and communities desperately need right now. Your gift provides programming and opportunities for students to explore an interdisciplinary approach to law, diversity, and justice, and provides access to law-related careers for students from underserved communities. The curriculum emphasizes a critical examination of how race, class, gender, sexual orientation, and disability intersect with the legal system. Most of our courses are taught by attorneys. The center's students and alumni effect change, taking leadership positions, and providing legal assistance to their communities.

Fairhaven Outback Farm:

The Outback is a student-driven farm with a staff of employees and teams of volunteers, hosting classes and welcoming students of all ages to engage in ecosystem restoration, community building, and food justice. The Outback was recently named one of the top 40 ranking college farms in America by CollegeRanker.com.

Fairhaven students need you now more than ever. Thank you in advance for your generosity and shared dedication to equity, social justice, and positive change.

With gratitude,
