The WWU Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), is an inclusive organization dedicated to fostering the success of Chicano/Hispanic and Native American scientists. This national organization supports college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM. Every year the SACNAS holds a national conference for members around the country to network and present their research to fellow scientist.
This conference is an amazing opportunity for students and the benefits are infinite. It is a life changing experience to have an event that focuses on science while supporting and valuing your cultural/racial identity.
This year the conference is at Long Beach CA, and we are trying to send more than one student this year for the first time! With so many WWU students wanting to attend, the cost is more than the club can handle on our own. That is why we ask for your help! Any amount would be greatly appreciated and we could not say thank you enough!
