The Muslim Students' Association (MSA) of Western Washington University (WWU) serves Muslim students and alumni in the maintenance of a safe and inclusive community with an emphasis on the spiritual, social, civic growth, and well-being of students.
MSA is excited to revive WWU's annual Ramadan Banquet in the Spring of 2022 for the first time in a decade and is seeking donations to help make this dream a reality!
Ramadan is the sacred holy month of abstention from food, drinks, and impious behavior from dawn till dusk celebrated by Muslims globally. This holiday is a time of reflection, compassion, and gratefulness. Ramadan marks the month in which our holy book, the Quran, was revealed to our Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Celebrations include community dinners, food, festivals, readings of the Quran, and nightly prayers.
Given the unprecedented circumstances of virtual and hybrid classes, providing Muslim students with a space to celebrate Ramadan is a priority. The Ramadan Banquet will be a community event hosted in the larger context of MSA's month-long Ramadan program. This event will be an opportunity for community outreach and a display of Muslim cultures around the world. There will be no priced tickets for this event.
Donations to this event will be used for the following purposes:
Your support is greatly appreciated. Money remaining following the event will roll over to 2023's Ramadan Banquet for MSA's future use.
Please make your donation today and support the MSA in hosting the campus's first-ever Ramadan Banquet to share this blessed month with the whole community!
