Art Photography Scholarship

Our Goal

In 2015, the Skipping Stone Foundation established the first scholarship dedicated specifically to Art Photography students at Western Washington University. We've teamed up with Adventures NW Magazine and other local photographers to raise at least $4,500 so we can triple the number of scholarships we are able to award next year. The more we raise, the more scholarships we can award!

About WWU Art Photography Students

These creative, bright students spend countless hours learning the techniques of photography while developing their unique visions. The equipment and supplies required to produce their art is very expensive, and poses significant financial barrier for students.

Why Photography Matters

Photography is an incredible way to tell stories. Photography is art. Photographs tell us what is important to us. The images inspire critical thought and a curiosity to delve deeper. They become our legacy - helping us share and communicate. Photography is a complex language that allows us to express joy, sorry, wonder and sympathy. It moves us. Without it, we would be less human. The world needs these student artists to tell the story of our present, past and future.

You can make the difference with your support today.

Choose a giving level

Gifts made at the candid level are so important! The smaller contributions add up to make a big impact on one or two students a year.

Gifts at the Composition level will allow students to explore their interests and passions with photography.

Support at the digital level is very much appreciated, as it allows students to reach their creative potential!

Gifts made at the lens level will cover the cost of 1/4 of a full year scholarship for one student.
