Student Marketing Association "Shoot for the Stars" Fundraiser

Who We Are

We are the Student Marketing Association (SMA), a colligate chapter of the nationally recognized American Marketing Association (AMA). SMA encompasses a group of passionate and driven Western Washington University (WWU) College of Business and Economic (CBE) students who seek to help mentor and motivate fellow students as they progress through their education.

Founded in 2010, SMA continuously strives for success by understanding the needs of their target audience, WWU CBE students, and providing value impacted solutions for them. The SMA Officer team does this through weekly, quarterly and annual events encompassing: business professional speakers, trending marketing tools in the form of workshops, networking events, case competitions, agency and small business tours, internship and job preparedness best practices and much more! We strive to not only provide beneficial knowledge to enhance our member’s marketing toolbox, but to also bring opportunities to get their hands dirty and put their marketing tools to use.

Being a member of the SMA is not just about being a member of a club, it’s about being part of a family, a marketing family, that many can connect with on a more personal level, learn from, and develop professional connections with for the rest of their post graduate careers.

Shooting For The Stars (A.K.A Our Goals)

The Student Marketing Association’s overarching goal is to teach its members how to apply marketing methods onto themselves and utilize these methods to land their dream jobs. Many don’t realize that the way they speak, what they wear, and everything they do is marketing themselves as their own unique brand.

Through the hard work and dedication of our SMA Officers, members and faculty advisor, who invest their time and energy throughout the entire year, we are able to achieve SMA’s high expectations for success and many progressive goals and visions.

Help us help others by donating to our efforts and allowing us to strive for greatness! With these funds we will be able to have access to more guest speakers, create more awareness on and off campus, as well as fund field trips to agencies/companies in the Pacific Northwest, case competitions and conferences throughout the nation.

Our success as an academic club can allow for our officers and members to not only learn more about the marketing profession and help them reach their goals but will assist in their development as professionals and future leaders of the world.

***IMPORTANT: June 1st is #Westerngiveday and a portion of every gift made that day will be matched! The first 166 students to give $5 or more will get $30 added to their gifts! This is a great way to give more without breaking the bank!
