WWU CONCERT CHOIR INTERNATIONAL TOUR (Iceland, Finland, Estonia - June 15-25, 2020)

WWU's Concert Choir has the unique opportunity to visit Northern Europe, touring the spectacularly beautiful and artistically rich countries of Iceland, Finland and Estonia. Cities such as Helsinki and Tallinn feature picturesque medieval towns with much of their architecture still intact. Our tour to Iceland includes a visit to its capital city, Reykjavik and a bus tour of the “Golden Circle,” a vast expanse of ice-fields, rivers, and mountains. The people of all three countries are gracious and kind. The WWU Choir will fly into Helsinki and travel via ferry Tallinn, Estonia to sing in Tallinn’s Mustpeade Hall, meeting place of Medieval merchants. Our tour also includes a train trip into the Finnish countryside to sing in the lovely acoustic Turku Cathedral. We finish our tour by flying back to Reykjavik for an extended stay in Iceland to sing in historic churches and enjoy the country’s natural beauty. During the tour, the choir has the opportunity to do an exchange with the award-winning Ellerhein Girls’ Choir, and perform a commissioned choral work featuring internationally renowned bassoonist, Martin Kuuskmann!
