WWU Ice Hockey Trail to Tahoe PAC8 Championship!
I wanted to take a moment and firstly thank you for your past support of the Western Washington University men's hockey team!! As you may or may not know, this is our second year in the PAC 8 conference, yes, we are playing with the big boys in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division 2. We made a big step last year and this year we have made some noise placing Western Washington University on the hockey map.
The WWU Viking Men's hockey team has made it to the PAC 8 playoffs held February 6th to the 9th 2020 in Lake Tahoe California.
This is a non-budgeted expense for the players and we are looking to fund transportation, lodging, and meals for the four days. The team is very excited, as is the University in our PAC 8 accomplishments this season.
To give you a bit of history, we brought in 14 freshmen players this year, and we are having great success in achieving a winning season against the well-established power houses of this league. It's been a David and Goliath season and as their head coach could not be prouder of their focus and character this year on and off the ice. They went into Southern California for the first time in University history and swept USC Trojans, at home they split games with the UCLA Bruins. We swept WSU Cougars at home and beat the UW Huskies home and away this season, not to mention winning games against, Idaho, Eastern Washington, and Loyola Marymount University. These are all power house universities and the Vikings have displayed sportsmanship while playing these highly funded programs.
We hope you will click Give Now and find room in your budget to support the team in their road to Tahoe and our first ever appearance in the PAC 8 playoffs.
Thank you for your time and consideration in funding the players to make this trip.
