WWU Women's Soccer 2019-2020
Viking Family- Help Support our amazing Student-Athletes!
As we prepare and train for our upcoming season we invite you to invest in WWU Women's Soccer program to help elevate the overall experience for our student-athletes both on and off the field. Our Goal this year is to raise $15,000. That $15,0000 would go towards things like:
- PROVIDING OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES WITH GEAR FOR BOTH TRAINING AND GAMES AS WELL AS APPAREL FOR BOTH TRAVEL AND HOME
Our 2019 Senior class can be seen here wearing several different pieces of training gear we provide for our players. Our goal is to make sure the players have the proper gear to be successful for any type of weather we might play in. This includes providing them (to name a few) both short and long sleeved jerseys, short and long sleeved training tops, hoodie sweatshirts, zip-up hoodie sweatshirts, puffy coats, rain jackets, training shorts and pants.
- IMPROVE TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES TO COMPETE AGAINST THE TOP TEAMS IN THE COUNTRY, AS WELL AS LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF SCHOOL MISSED BY AFFORDING BETTER FLIGHT OPTIONS, AS WELL AS PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR FUN ACTIVITIES
Pictured above is the team at the Red Rock Amphitheater. We were able to spend some time here during our trip to Golden, CO where we played the Colorado School of Mines, who at the time were ranked 9th in the country. Pictured below is some of the team on the Duqesne Incline while we were in the Pittsburgh for the Final Four. The incline has been in use since 1854, and allowed us to see parts of Pittsburgh in a whole new way!
We aim to miss as little school as possible when travelling, and being able to change our flights in order to accommodate this is a big reason why we had an amazing 10 players on the GNAC All-Academic Team last fall.
- PROVIDING THE TEAM WITH QUALITY TEAM MEALS BOTH ON THE ROAD AND AT HOME DURING PRE-SEASON, CONFERENCE PLAY, AND THE POST SEASON IS ESSENTIAL TO THE SUCCESS ON THE FIELD
We were able to host several team meals this past season, with the above dinner taking place in the pre-season in the Hall of Fame room in Carvery Gym. Having team dinners allows us not only to spend time together as a team off the field, but also allows the players one less thing to worry about for an evening. Allowing them to concentrate on training and getting 1% better everyday.
- CONTINUE TO ADD NEW EQUIPMENT TO OUR TRAINING SESSIONS AS WELL ADD TO OUR LOCKE ROOM TO ENHANCE TRAINING AND GAMES
We are so lucky to have one of the most beautiful facilities in the country to train and play our games on. With your help, we can continue to update our training equipment (training sticks, ladders, soccer balls, etc.) which will elevate our training sessions and help us get one step closer to our goals each day. We also are so lucky to have a locker room at the field for our players to be able to utilize everyday. We are always looking for new ways to make this space better for our players, and with your help we can create a space that they will be proud to call their own.
By donating to our program you will be enhancing either our team gear, travel, help sponsor a team meal, or help us purchase and maintain our training equipment. More importantly, your donation will be providing opportunities for growth with each of our student-athletes not only as soccer players, but as people. Every gift helps! Each donation will go directly back to the student-athletes in one of the ways listed above. We truly appreciate your investment in these amazing young women.
We also invite you to support the team by attending games, as well as by sharing our VikingFunder on your social media outlets. The more our Viking Family can grow, the better!
Huge shout out to Viking Alum, Tivona Tinsley, who created the video you see at the top of the page, be sure to check it out! This is an awesome view as to what our student-athletes get to experience while on the team. All of the footage seen is from the 2019 season.
