Help WWU Dance Attend Salt Lake City Conference

WWU Dance seeks to fundraise $3,000 to cover travel expenses to Salt Lake City (Ogden), UT for 18 dancers wishing to attend the American College Dance Association (ACDA) Northwest Conference March 6-10th, 2024

Every year the WWU Dance department takes a group of students to ACDA. This four day event brings together college dance programs from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Utah where students and faculty attend dance classes, research presentations, film screenings, informal concerts, feedback sessions, and a culminating gala concert. It’s an incredible learning experience and chance to connect with peers from across the country. For aspiring professional dancers, it's an opportunity network and build their resumes.

As part of the conference, fourth-year student Karen Kao and faculty member Pam Kuntz will also present their original choreography performed by WWU Dance students. These works will be submitted for adjudication by nationally recognized dance professionals and receive constructive feedback.

This year, the conference is at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah which means students must travel by plane as opposed to carpooling in prior years. Travel expenses should not be a barrier to dancing, learning, growing, and connecting with others, this is an amazing opportunity. WWU Dance needs to fundraise just $3,000 to help cover the cost of roundtrip airfare and other travel expenses to and from Salt Lake City. We will fly into SLC on March 6th in time for the conference kickoff that evening. Then we'll spend the next 3 days dancing and learning before returning to Bellingham on Sunday, March 10th in time to prep for finals.
