Support Western's 2025 Softball Hit-A-Thon!

We are hoping we can count on you - our dedicated family, friends, fans, alumni, and supporters - to help enhance the WWU Softball program and provide our student-athletes with the best possible experience. Our goal is to raise $20,000 during our Viking Funder and Hit-A-Thon Campaign this November, and we’d love your help to get there!

What is a Hit-A-Thon?

Our Hit-A-Thon will take place on Saturday, November 22nd at noon (PST) at Viking Field. Each student-athlete will collect pledges in the form of dollars per foot prior to the event.

During the Hit-A-Thon:

• Each player will take 10 swings off front toss from one of our coaches.
• The longest hit (measured in feet) will determine the final pledge total.
• If the ball clears the fence, we’ll continue measuring the distance until it stops rolling.
• Viking Field’s fence is 195 feet down the lines and 222 feet to center field for reference.

The event will be live-streamed - tune in to cheer on your favorite Vikings!

After the Hit-A-Thon, we willl contact everyone who pledged with the final distances and details on how to complete their contributions.

How Can I Help?

There are two ways you can give to our Viking Funder and Hit-A-Thon Campaign in November!

1. Make a pledge

Support your favorite WWU Softball player in our Hit-A-Thon – fill out our online form to pledge to support a student-athlete for the hit-a-thon.  After the Hit-A-Thon, we’ll notify you of your total and provide instructions to complete your gift right here on the Viking Funder page.

2. Give a flat donation

Prefer to give directly? Click the green “Give Now” button at the top of this page to make a one-time contribution.

Either way, every dollar will go directly to WWU Softball. All gifts are tax-deductible, and you’ll receive an emailed receipt after your donation. We sincerely appreciate your support - every contribution makes a difference!

Thank you for your generous support of Western Washington Softball. Your investment in our program has a lasting impact on the lives of our student-athletes, both on and off the field, and we would not be where we are today without you.

Over the past five years, WWU Softball has reached incredible heights: five consecutive GNAC Championship appearances, three GNAC titles, three NCAA Championship Tournament berths, and two trips to the NCAA Division II Women’s College World Series - finishing as National Runner-Up in 2024 and advancing to the Final Four in 2025. These seasons have been filled with growth, resilience, and unforgettable milestones, all made possible by our incredible alumni and donors like you who have paved the way.

At WWU Softball, our mission is to build champions both on and off the field. Academically, our student-athletes continue to set a standard of excellence, maintaining a 3.6 team GPA, achieving a 100% graduation rate, and earning multiple academic honors, including GNAC All-Academic awards and NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete recognition. Our program is equally committed to giving back to the community that supports us. Through local volunteer work (Bellingham Special Olympics, the Max Higbee Center, Whatcom County Meals on Wheels program, Common Threads) and youth softball clinics, our student-athletes inspire the next generation of Vikings while learning the importance of service.

Your support has been a critical part of this success. In 2024, your generosity helped us install batting cages at Viking Field, a true game-changer for our training. Your contributions also allowed our athletes to travel and compete against some of the best teams in the country, experiences that are invaluable in preparing us for championship-level play. What makes your impact especially meaningful is how directly it enhances the student-athlete experience. With your help, we will continue to build a program that is both nationally competitive and deeply committed to the holistic growth of our student-athletes.
