Support WWU Dance Students Attending Long Beach Conference

WWU Dance seeks to fundraise $3,000 to cover travel expenses to Long Beach, CA for 12 dancers wishing to attend the American College Dance Association (ACDA) Conference February 4-8th, 2026

Every year the WWU Dance department takes a group of students to ACDA. This four day event brings together college dance programs, where students and faculty attend dance classes, research presentations, film screenings, informal concerts, feedback sessions, and a culminating gala concert. It’s an incredible learning experience and chance to connect with peers from across the country. For aspiring professional dancers, it's an opportunity network and beneficial in building resumes.

As part of the conference, fourth-year student Megan Turner will present her original choreography performed by WWU Dance students. The dance work will be submitted for adjudication by nationally recognized dance professionals and receive constructive feedback.

This year, the conference is at California State University in Long Beach, California. Travel expenses should not be a barrier to dancing, learning, growing, and connecting with others, this is an amazing opportunity. WWU Dance needs to fundraise just $3,000 to help cover the cost of roundtrip airfare and other travel expenses to and from Long Beach. We will fly into LAX on February 4th in time for the conference kickoff that evening. Then will spend the next 3 days dancing and learning before returning to Bellingham on Sunday February 8th.
