Honoring a Legacy of Excellence: Celebrating Dr. Peter Haug
After 40 years of dedication, Peter is retiring from his roles as the full professor and the Director of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management program. A two-time Fulbright Senior Scholar, Peter has made lasting contributions to research, teaching, and global academic collaboration. He conducted research in Scotland and was an exchange faculty in Iceland. He led 3-week business study tours to China, and then, Southeast Asia. He has travelled to over 120 countries, bringing a truly global perspective to everything he did at WWU. Peter received several outstanding teaching and mentoring awards from CBE and WWU. He was critical to the design, improvement, and success of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Program (MSCM), the MSCM Advisory Board, and the student chapter of Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM). Since its founding, graduates of the MSCM program have consistently ranked among the highest-paid in both the college and the university.
As we look toward the future of the MSCM/OPS program, we pause to celebrate the incredible career of Dr. Peter Haug as he embarks on his next chapter: retirement. For decades, his teaching, research, and service has shaped the careers of countless Vikings, turning the classroom into a launchpad for industry leaders. To honor his enduring impact, we invite our MSCM/OPS alumni, advisory board, faculty, and friends to share your favorite memories, photos, and stories at the links below.
